Description
This is our Reversing Camera kit for the Jaguar F Pace, XE and XF ( 2016 Onwards ) Automatic Gearbox Only – If your car has a Manual Gearbox then please see our other listing for the Manual kit that will work with your vehicle. This kit is for vehicles fitted with the factory Harman Audio System with the 8” & 10”touchscreen unit ( Will not work on the 10” Duel view screen: Duel Screen is where the passenger can view a DVD on their side and yet the Driver would only see the Radio or Nav ) Once fitted the camera image will be displayed when the Reverse Gear is engaged and it will display ‘Dynamic Parking Guidelines’ that move with the steering wheel – showing the projected trajectory of the vehicle. The parking sensor icon will show on the screen and display parking sensor distance just as it did before. This kit comes with our low voltage NTSC wedge style camera that is easily built into the existing tailgate handle release giving a factory look installation. The installation of this Plug and Play interface is done at the rear of the screen and at the climate controls. The kit comes supplied with full fitting instructions and step by step photos on a USB Key. If you need any technical help or advice please contact us and we will be happy to help.

Hi, did a bit of online research into reverse camera kits and there are plenty of companies that advertise comprehensive kits. Some are, some are not and prices vary wildly. Most are advertised fully fitted and i didn’t find any others that encourage DIY fitment. So I paid a very reasonable £329 and it was delivered 2 days later, as promised there was a USB drive included with photographic fitting instructions. Basically, the kit is entirely plug and play with no additional wiring or soldering. If you are a reasonably competent DIY person with basic tool kit ( I would recommend plastic trim removal tool ) you will be able to successfully fit one of these kits. I would say give yourself a day to complete as there is a fair bit of trim that needs removing and the biggest obstacle I found was removing the dash trim without breaking it, as its pretty delicate and securely fitted. Once I had finished fitting and eagerly engaged reverse gear, Nothing, no camera input! It was about 4pm Friday afternoon so I quickly texted a photo and description of problem to Empirical and in a short space of time received a reply asking how had I set the dip switches to which I replied I have no idea what dip switches are? It turns out that on the USB there was a section on setting the dip switches on the control unit supplied in the kit. Once set accordingly, Job Done, Rear camera active. Very pleased with all aspects of the purchase, it is one of those things that you could do in half the time second time around. The only thing that I feel would be helpful is some written instructions alongside the photos. Thanks Empirical, Great product and support.

After reversing my 2016 F-Pace into a parked car when thinking the parking sensor bleeps related to a car on my left ( I know…idiot….) I finally gave in and decided to look for a reversing camera kit. I’m so pleased to recommend the kit from Dougie at Empirical which integrates with the current console display and operates exactly as a factory fit option.
I live in Yorkshire so spoke to Dougie for advice on choosing a local auto electrician, bought the kit which arrived next day, and I passed on the tips from Dougie to my local garage who duly fitted the system in just two hours.
A very happy customer and hopefully no more daft mishaps….

Looked everywhere online for a reversing camera for my 3 year old xf. Found a few offering just the interface before coming across Empirical in Glasgow. Gave them a call just to check compatibility and Dougie assured me it was ok. Ordered the kit on tuesday and received it thursday. The kit comes very professionally packed and is well made and comprehensive. A memory stick came with the kit with a start to finish set of photographs of the fitting procedure. I am a 75 yr old ex mechanic with only old school electrical knowledge but I only had to call Dougie once for help when he put me right on a procedure. I had the job done inside 4 hours and the result is fantastic. Only a small amount of tools are required, nothing more specialized than a couple of trim removal tools which are cheap and easy to purchase online.. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this for DIY or if you prefer fitted at Empirical.

Fantastic Service , bought a reversing camera for my 1 year old approved used Jaguar XE R sports, Asked Jaguar if they would fit one and they didn’t really want to do it. Went online and found Dougie… his knowledge in this field is second to none and so helpful. Being in Cornwall and Dougie in Scotland I had to find someone local to fit ( Even Though Empirical told me, many of their customers from down in England make the drive up for in house fitting. and Dougie even offered to give me a lift into the city centre to kill some time and collect me once the installation was complete ) But I managed to fInd Graham Spencer FAST ELECTRICS Saltash ( near Plymouth ) covering most of the west Country, he fitted it perfectly, again his knowledge in this field was the best.
