Reverse Reversing Camera Kit for Toyota Proace ( 2017 to Mid 2024 ) Brake Light Camera ( Twin Rear Door Only )

Description
This is our Reversing Camera kit for the Toyota Proace Van ( 2017 to Mid 2024 ) with Twin Rear Door Only. This Brake Light camera cannot be used on the Single Tailgate as it has a screen wash nozzle built into the centre brake light, if you have a Toyota Proace with single tailgate then please see our Proace Verso Listing. This plug and play kit requires no coding and is designed for the factory fitted 7” screen already installed in the vehicle ( We Do NOT supply a new screen ). Plug and Play connections are done at the rear of the screen and the radio unit located behind the screen, then run the camera cable to the rear door. Once fitted the screen will change to the camera image on selection of the Reverse Gear and will show ‘Dynamic Parking Guidelines’ that move with the steering wheel showing the projected trajectory of the vehicle. The parking sensor icon at the top corner of the screen will show sensors ( if sensors are fitted ) Once reverse gear is disengaged the screen will return to the factory image. This complete kit comes with a new brake light camera lens – housing our low voltage NTSC camera. Simply unclip your original brake light from its lens and attach it to the new camera version. The Brake Light camera gives a higher view straight down the rear of the van but if you would prefer a lower view closer to the rear bumper then see our ( Number Plate Light Camera ) kit. The kit is supplied with a USB key – Full of installation photos and Instructions, along with our details for technical support via phone or email. Please see our Product VIDEO to experience this kit in action.

Additional Information
Chris –
Easy to install, great image quality and excellent customer service.
Having installed several reverse camera kits over the years, I knew that a brunt of the install was running wires from front to rear on the vehicle. That said, in total, the install took around 1.5 hours so not too bad. I imagine someone totally new to doing any car AV installs, should expect around 3 hours work and anyone with the correct trim tools and a basic understanding of cars might be able to get this down to under an hour.
Initial thoughts are that the image quality on the factory screen is great. I only have the rear sensors ( no fronts ) but can confirm these show up clearly on the screen and work well. They appear almost like a thumbnail so small enough not to effect the image but big enough to act as a decent driving aid for any drivers not confident at reversing, or needing to line up to hitch a trailer without having an extra pair of eyes handy ( although we will find out once my staff get their hands on it just how good it is ). It also has the lines that appear and move as you steer so although I am personally not a fan of this feature, it certainly makes it look like a factory install. The light lens needed swapping onto my factory brake light casing which took all of 2 minutes to swap. The only issue I did run into whilst installing was the image upon completion was an unusual colour so I emailed Empirical to find solution to the issue. Turns out I had inadvertently caught one of the dip-switches on the unit itself. Although I sent the email late on a Friday night ( well and truly out of office hours ) to my amazement, I received several prompt replies and the issue was resolved within 20 minutes and 3 emails.
So to sum up, if you have a Toyota Proace ( or anything else that share this platform ( Traveller, Expert, Dispatch, SpaceTourer, Jumpy, Vivaro etc ) and your car did not come with the factory camera, then I would definitely recommend. If you happen to stumble upon this review and after something else on this site then I can also recommend. I will certainly be coming back here the next time I need something for one of the cars !
